Cleaning has always been important, but COVID-19 has put a lot of emphasis on how critical it really is. Instead of purchasing yet another bottle of disinfectant spray, try making your own natural cleaning solution with basic household ingredients. Commonly used cleaning products such as Lysol seem great at getting the job done, but they often contain toxic ingredients with detrimental effects to our health and the environment. Homemade natural cleaning products are safer for the environment, allergen-friendly, cost-effective, low waste, and much more. Switching to an all-natural, all-purpose cleaner to sanitize your space may sound intimidating at first, but there are many benefits. You can buy non-toxic cleaners, but following this easy tutorial, you can make it yourself at home!

Lavender and lemon essential oils create a calming and refreshing scent, but they also act as an antibacterial and antiseptic agent. Various essential oils can be used, such as eucalyptus, grapefruit, orange, tea tree, and rosemary. DIY recipes allow for creativity and are more cost-effective than you may realize. Some all-natural cleaners can be overpriced, especially depending on where you buy them from. With this, all you need are the simple ingredients below that will allow you to replenish your cleaning cocktail whenever you want!

What You’ll Need:

  • 1/2 cup of white vinegar
  • 10 drops of lavender essential oil
  • 10 drops of lemon essential oil
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 24 oz. spray bottle (or bigger)

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a spray bottle
  2. Shake it up!
  3. Label the bottle
  4. Spray on surfaces and let it sit for 10 minutes for best results. Wipe it up, and you’re good to go!

Happy cleaning!
