In a time where home economics classes have been erased from schools and basic sewing skills are no longer passed down from generation to generation, Uncommon Threads seeks to restore this knowledge to anyone willing to learn! Nikki Scioscia

Nikki is an illustrator and graphic designer, (formally an Office of Sustainability Staff member!) who specializes in pen and ink drawings that express our responsibility to respect and restore the Earth’s interconnected ecosystems. In speaking about her art, she says, “my line work interlaces flora, fauna, fungi, and the female form with the undulating vibrations that connect all beings. Each drawing is imbued with herbal symbolism and spells for loving empowerment as a prayer for our collective remembering.”
